So far, we have each taken two artists and photographed their works. We used a tripod to make sure everything was taken at the same level and eliminate the potential of blurry photographs. Once the photographs were taken, they were uploaded into one drive for all nine of us to then use photoshop to edit them. We all went into the lab and edited the photos, mostly for the lighting. We wanted to ensure it looked the way it did in the actual exhibit as well as the photos having the same lighting as each other. Once this was done, we cropped all of the pictures we took to make sure that the exhibit was proportionate as well as just showing the works and not the wall behind them.

After all of this was done, we uploaded them back into one drive for us all to have. Then, we learned how to use WordPress and played around with making new pages. A lot of us have already uploaded all of our photos into the media gallery where it's visible to all the designers of the site, but not the viewer. I really like this because it shows all past photos that aren't necessarily posted. We are planning to come together on Tuesday and decide what designs we like as a class so everything can look cohesive. Once we make these decisions, we will all be able to finish up our separate pages for the website and watch it come alive.

I believe this project is significant because it allows us to digitalize these professors work, especially since a lot of the pieces are for sale. Once everything gets split up and is no longer on display, this will be the only way for people to access the works. I also think digitalizing it is great because then the artists have the opportunity to look back on the exhibit. I have had trouble reaching my artists to get information from them, so I will have to reach back out for that. Overall, I think this team is in a really good place and is working well together.

  1. We spent pretty much all of class on 10/21 just drafting design ideas for the layout of the website. Split into smaller groups, we all made our own versions of sections like the home page and artist exhibition layouts, and then shared them all and deiced on what worked and what didn't. I think overall we've been really cohesive as a group overall, we've had very few absences and nobody has been delayed in any aspect too severely to catch up on time. Particularly with the photos as well, everyone got their editing and formatting done impressively fast so we could all move forward together the next session without worrying about delays.
